Getting Started in R/C Boating

There are many things to consider when you are first getting
started in R/C Boating. Probably the best way at first is to join
a local club in your area. This would allow you to gain the first
hand knowledge from the clubs members, so that you do not
have to experience a lot of the same problems as they did.
You will see and learn things from a veteran RC boater they
will without a doubt save you the novice many hours of problems.

Below there is a list of things to consider:

Budget:

This hobby is and can be expensive, so try to establish a dollar value
that will allow you to get on the water and start enjoying this hobby

Boat Type & Engine:

If you join a club, and just watch the action for a time , this
will help you to decide what boat type you would want to buy,
your choice could be a nitro powered or gas powered hull.

Accessories:

This can be such things as a toolbox, table, fuel can, props,
spare parts for any boat/ engine you would decide to buy.

Heat Racing:

This is an area that some R/C boaters either love or hate, some
people love the thrill of racing, while others are just as happy
to run at the club pond and enjoy the hobby. The one thing is the
additional costs involved, such as gas, hotels, entry fees.

The Bottom Line:

If you decide to join in this hobby, take you time to decide
on any choices, and listen to the veteran boater, and you will
save money and time ahead.
